Mountain
Dog Foods Awarded HACCP certification
Edmonton, Alberta (July 12, 2016) –
Mountain Dog Foods is the first Canadian raw pet food manufacturer to be
awarded the prestigious Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point System
(HACCP) certification. The HACCP
certification is the world-wide standard in human food manufacturing.
“HACCP is a management system in which
food safety is addressed through the analysis and control of biological,
chemical and physical hazards from raw material production, procurement and
handling, to manufacturing, distribution and consumption of the finished
product” US Food and Drug Administration
Mountain Dog Foods was instrumental in
setting the standard for the raw food industry in Canada under the Canadian
Association of Raw Pet Food Manufacturers.
CARPFM was founded in 2007 by a group of
concern raw food manufacturers who felt that frozen pet food required manufacturing
standards: including independent third party inspection of the manufacturing
facility, their material handling and documentation. Members in good standing
have been inspected and have met or exceeded the association's Good
Manufacturing Practices standards.
Mountain Dog has been certified by CARPFM continuously since 2009.
Achieving HACCP certification in addition to
CARPFM certification reinforces Mountain Dog Food’s commitment to quality and
food safety.
Mountain Dog Foods was established in 2000,
with a commitment to providing safe and affordable raw pet food to pet owners
throughout Canada
