Pets West #AWIEB

Pets West – Victoria, BC
We work closely with the local media to promote responsible pet care covering TV, radio and print. We have been invited as a frequent guest on the local pet show called “The CFAX Petline” to talk about all aspects of pet care. Working with the local pet adoption groups is an ongoing project of ours to bring awareness to the public of the need for responsible pet ownership. We provide store-front adoptions for local cat rescue groups such as the SPCA, the Pound, and many others as a non-profit service. We also host adoption fairs throughout the year (primarily for dog rescue groups, but also includes cat and small animal rescue). Included in our goal of maintaining positive pet experiences within the community is trying to involve ourselves in the majority of community pet events. Over the years we have also sponsored many different pet groups including flyball and agility clubs, cat fanciers clubs, and the local bird club and fish club to help ensure these vital volunteer groups are able to keep operating.

Pets Unlimited – Halifax, Dartmouth, New Minas NS
Three Pets Unlimited locations are working with the Nova Scotia SPCA to adopt cats and kittens into local homes. The stores provide the visibility and staff while the NSSPCA provides the spayed and neutered felines. This project has been a wonderful success. Currently seven of our stores are involved.  Our Halifax location donated and set up a 70 gallon fresh water fish tank at the Camphill Veterans Hospital. Aquarium supplies, food and fish are provided on a regular basis.
