All Canadian Pet Care Training Program launched by PIJAC Canada

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Well trained staff equals healthy pets & happy pet families

OTTAWA, Ontario (August 13 2015)  We, at PIJAC Canada (Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council) are extremely excited to announce the launch of our updated and newly formatted Pet Care Training Program.  Designed specifically for pet professionals, this five (soon to be six) species module series delves into the world of health care, disease and illness recognition and treatment and species identification. Created by veterinarians and other leading industry experts, our program has been developed specifically for people who work with and care for pets on a daily basis, such as retail, veterinary technician, municipal and shelter staff. The core of the program focuses on improving the care given to pets and helping participants to collaborate more efficiently with the health professionals and pet families.

“Our goal for this newly revised program was to deliver a useful tool for pet service providers, rich in information that can be accessible anywhere, anytime, for years to come” says Louis McCann, President & CEO of PIJAC Canada.  “Since 1991 our purpose for offering the program has always been to make available an affordable and creditable learning tool for pet service professionals.”

Participants who successfully complete the exam at the end of each module will earn a Certified Canine, Feline, Reptile, Avian or Small Mammal Specialist Designation through PIJAC Canada. The program can be accessed at www.pijaccanadaeducation.com.  Pet Services members of the association receive access to one free module and discounted rates for each one thereafter.
