Commemorative
Monument / Heroes Park Beaconsfield, Québec.
It is with pleasure that PIJAC Canada shares with you
information on the “Heroes Park” project, which will honor the service and
sacrifice of men and women in uniform along
with their canine companions.
Situated in a park dedicated by the City of
Beaconsfield, the layout and central monument will honor their service and
sacrifice in a proper setting to be maintained in perpetuity.
In collaboration with the City of Beaconsfield and Veterans Affairs Canada, on the eve of the commemoration of
the 100th anniversary of the First World War, a Cenotaph will be placed in
memory of those who have served and sacrificed themselves in service of their
nation and communities. Inclusive and unique, this honour will be bestowed upon the
military, police officers, fire fighters and first responders.
A special tribute to our canine allies
Through an initiative
of Mrs. Johanne Tassé (CaacQ), there is an opportunity
to add a cenotaph to pay tribute to service dogs past and present in Heroes
Park. A
separate monument that will recognize dogs serving our communities, protecting
our borders, working with police officers, first responders and the military and helping families
having lost one of their loved ones.
