New app for dog owners makes every dollar count for rescue pups

TORONTO, ON: JANUARY 15, 2017 - After a successful pilot with Save our Scruff (www.saveourscruff.org), Bark 'n Yapp, a digital community exclusively for pup parents, is proud to announce its SmartStart Shelter & Rescue Program, a corporate initiative that delivers donations directly to registered dog shelters and rescues across Canada.

Bark 'n Yapp is a highly interactive application, accessible from desktop to mobile devices, that was developed to make the lives of dog owners easier by allowing them to meet and connect with like-minded dog owners, or research, review and locate products, services and resources to enhance their dog's life.
“I recently rescued a puppy from a kill shelter and then shortly afterwards, the
rescue I was dealing with had to shut down due to lack of funding.”, says Galen Udell, Founder & Top Dog of Bark 'n Yapp.  “Through the Bark 'n Yapp platform, we were determined to find a way to help more shelters and rescues. We knew that most adopters needed a better way to tap into resources in their community and that rescues were always in need of funding, and since Bark 'n Yapp could provide both of these, it was a win-win.” Through the SmartStart Shelter & Rescue Program, Bark 'n Yapp will donate $1 to a registered organization when the adopted dog joins Bark 'n Yapp. Adopters can contact the rescue or shelter they used to get a unique code that will allow the
donations to be applied.

Bark 'n Yapp (www.barknyapp.com) is free for dog owners to use and currently has over 6000 listings in Canada and has recently launched in Ohio. A mobile app in both iOS and Android is scheduled for release in early 2017.
